This updated edition shares 29 personal stories of polio survivors in Ireland and their ongoing struggles with the long-term effects of the disease. Entitled Polio & Us, the book was originally published 18 years ago. The aim of the new publication is to help ensure that the legacy of polio is not forgotten and that eradication is protected.

Polio & Us is essentially a time capsule of the stories of polio survivors and how they overcame the challenges of the disease. It was originally commissioned so that the trials and triumphs of those who contracted polio in the 20th century would not be forgotten.

All proceeds from the book go directly to Polio Survivors Ireland.
